Is a red eared slider over a year old a full adult or still a baby I need to know so I can Switch their diets?

I got my turtles from the flea market.The man said that he had gotten them from someone who had a Turtle that laid eggs. I don't know how old they were before I got them but ive had them over a year do I need to switch their diet?
